After a modest breakfast at Gravy in Portland with Fancy Nancy I hit the road and headed east for the 20 hour drive to Colorado. Or what is calculated to be a 20 hour drive for normal people. For persons plagued by the need to document every passing landscape it takes about 20 years. But it would have been a travesty not to take pictures, since the past 24 hours have been solely characterized by the most insanely gorgeous light. Here’s the proof:
See? I couldn’t just drive by. Most of these locations are owned by the great state of Idaho, a state in which I expected to see trucks hauling potatoes but ended up behind multiple trucks hauling red and yellow onions. They made my eyes water. Which made me laugh. Which impaired my vision. Which was even more reason to pull over and take pictures!
The open road is calling my name, this time from Utah. I’ll blog again once I reach Colorado in 2030.
